Fashion Technology
The Ice Jacket is a high rate technology garment: the cotton fabric has a thermo-sensitive coating, water and wind resistant. The molecules of the coating's micro-encapsulated pigments modify the passage of light when temperature lowers and morph to darker a colour.
This jacket, is one of Stone Island iconic pieces. Since the early Nineties, they have introduced the concept of light refractivity, borrowed from safety work garments. The Reflective fabric is highly refractive, due to a coating procedure made with thousands of glass micro-spheres.

Christopher Raeburn - SS11 Dazzle
Interesting approach to fashion using functional military items such as bags, parachutes and sleeping and deconstructing them using the characteristics and the functional properties combined with sportswear silhouettes to create these incredible pieces.
The video shows the evolution of an item to a garment, just such attention to detail.

Week 6 Life Drawing
This time it was a man, new challenges, new approaches, I may go more chaotic with my drawings next week.
Dressmaking
In the summer I completed a dressmaking course enabling me to learn the basics to create a garment, the technical elements can push my creativity further, this is what I created, it was a basic pattern I used, this year I want to develop my pattern cutting skills and experiment with silhouette further, this is a start though haha.
